The wait before

Cindy has a few times over the years and said go stand in the corner in our bedroom and wait for me.

Having to wait with your bottom bare certainly increases the focus

but simple standing in the corner, by a window, with your nose in the corner, unmoving, adds it own intimidation and fear of being seen
 Standing beside the strap, or martinet, bare bottomed, yikes
